FLAT WHITE CULTURE, LONDON
The rise of the independent coffee shop in London. AKA 'All the places in which I have thought grand thoughts or imagined big schemes.' What started as an exercise in painting pretty facades, quickly became an obsession and excuse to explore my home city, and other cities around the world. A reason to visit new neighbourhoods and observe stylistic trends within a single genre. The rise of the independent coffee shop is less, to me, about our caffeine addiction, and more about our need to connect within our communities. Connect with others, and connect with ourselves. To have space to think, talk and dream.
